The Intermediate and Senior Phase Gala took place on the evening of 16 February. Unfortunately, it was interupted with bad weather and had to be continued the following morning. Thanks to Mr Petzer's hard work, the gala ran smoothly and successfully with everyone present enjoying the atmosphere. Congratulations to the overall winner, Umgeni.

The Manor Gardens Family

Manor Gardens Children

We are a small school with about 350 children from Grade 1 to 7.  There are two classes for each grade with class sizes between 20 and 30. We embrace all races, religions and cultures in an atmosphere of respect, tolerance and understanding. Our teaching methods reinforce the belief that each child is an unique individual with a variety of strengths of weaknesses and must be allowed to develop at their own pace.

The second round was written by approximately 1000 pupils at Star College. Manor Gardens Primary was awarded 14 places in the final top 50 and received 5 of the top 10 places.

Music

Jazz Evening Lights

We have a vibrant music programme at Manor Gardens which runs both within class music and in our extra-mural programme.

Class Music - Our children look at many genres of music, learn a wide variety of songs, study basic music theory, play xylophones, drums and other percussion instruments, compose music based on various themes, listen to music and respond with art, movement or by answering questions. On the completion of a theme, classes sometimes perform in an assembly or in our quarterly music evenings. From Grade 4-7, music books are kept to record the various concepts, composers and genres studied.

Extra-Mural Music - This exciting programme takes place either for 30 minutes before school, or during breaks.
