Birds Grade 4

I have learnt a lot in our bird theme. We went on a very exciting excursion to Umgeni Bird Park to learn more about birds. We also did teach backs about a specific bird that we had chosen. Each child got a unique bird to do their project on. I had the Secretary Bird for my bird. Some people were lucky to see their bird at the bird park. I didn’t see my bird, but I had fun watching the variety of birds that were there. We also went to the bird show, which was very fascinating. We also made bird feeders to hang up on trees. We tested them at school. I liked making my bird feeder very much.
Cavemen Stories - by grade 2 learners

The grade 2 children are currently learning about fire. They were given a writing activity in which they had to pretend they were cavemen. They needed to make a fire to cook some dinner for their family, and to keep their family warm. Of course they could not take advantage of the luxuries today - charcoal, firelighters and matches. Here are what some of the children wrote:

Two weeks ago there was a fire on Umgeni Road. When I was walking on the pavement I saw firemen for the first time and I got so excited that when the fire engine went past me I fell into the fire engine. When I got up I asked them where they were going and when I found out my house was on fire. I fainted. They tried to wake me by throwing a bucket of water in my face. Then suddenly I woke up with a shock and my house was saved by the best firemen ever. Thank you firemen.
FP Roald Dahl Dress Up Day

As part of Roald Dahl month, the FP held a dress up day. Children in grades 1, 2 and 3 came to school dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character from any of his books.

Grade 1 Excursion to PheZulu

The Grade 1 children went on an exciting excursion to PheZulu in the 2nd term. They had a lot of fun looking at the crocodiles and holding snakes!

Healthy Sandwiches

The grade 2s completed a theme on Healthy Living in the 3rd term. They made their own very healthy sandwiches and enjoyed eating them too!
Inter- House General Knowledge Quiz

The Inter- House General Knowledge Quiz took place in the school hall on the 2nd December. It was enjoyed by both those who were competeing as well as all the spectators. Congradulations to Ifafa who were the overall winners.
