Manor Gardens Primary's building project takes shape!

A walk around the School in May 2012 seems like a visit to a construction site as the new facilities take shape.  Substantial progress has been made on foundations and brick work for the music andsenior aftercare block, the tuck shop and thrift shop as well as the new foundation phase reading room and junior aftercare.  Piling work has also been done for the new media centre which will start to take shape over the next couple of months.  It is planned that a

Manor Gardens Primary School is a small, friendly co-ed school from Grade 1 to Grade 7. Class sizes range between 20 and 30 learners. We embrace all races, religions and cultures in an atmosphere of respect, tolerance and understanding. Our teaching methods reinforce the belief that each child is a unique individual, who has a variety of strengths and weaknesses, and who must be allowed to develop at their own pace.

 

Maths Achievements

Amesa-2011

Manor Gardens Primary School has consistently excelled in provincial and national maths competitions. In 2011, MGPS were the top primary school in the AMESA-KZN Maths Olympiad. Tim Hardman (Grade 7) came first in the Grade 7 and second in the Grade 8 competitions. Glenda Watt came tied second  with Ethan Biggs (Grade 6) in Grade 7, while Ethan also won the Grade 6 top prize. Nic Hardman received second prize in Grade 4.

MGPS Kids' Lit Quiz World Champs!

After a long and thrilling final, four of our heroes came out tops during the Kids' Lit Quiz World Final hosted in Hamilton, New Zealand. The Manor Gardens team represented South Africa in the competition. Alexandra Breckenridge, Matthew Robbins, Emily Spencer and Sarah Herrington competed against teams from the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Canada. To secure their place in the World final, the Manor Gardens team competed in regional and national competitions to beat 150 South African schools and be crowned national champions.
