Over the years the school uniform has undergone quite a few changes. The girls wore a green and white checked dress with a belt and a brown brimmed hat. The boys wore white shirts with the brown and green striped school tie, grey shorts and long grey socks with brown school shoes. As the years progressed, the girls brown hats were eliminated and open brown sandals were introduced as an option for footwear. When the national awareness for effects of too much sunlight was brought to the fore, Manor Gardens supported the ‘Slip, Slap, Slop’ campaign and introduced white wide brimmed sun hats for all children to wear in the sun. In 1997, the new school uniform was introduced – bottle green ‘golf’ shirts with the white school badge on the pocket, and Bermuda bottle green shorts with open brown sandals. This uniform was for both boys and girls. The checked green and white school dress had the waist and the belt removed and the girls have the option of the green shorts and shirt, or the dress. All children had the option of open brown sandals or white ankle socks and brown school shoes.
