GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ
• Interhouse
Congratulations to the Ifafa team on winning the interhouse general knowledge quiz on Wednesday last week. Thank you to the teachers, the children and the parents for an enjoyable morning.
• Glenmore Primary
Rubina Valodia, Fiona Watt and Tebogo Makhubu did Manor Gardens Primary proud on Thursday night when they won the Glenmore General Knowledge Quiz. They competed against 5 other schools as well as a team of teachers! Thank you to their parents and Mrs Howard-Davies for accompanying the children.

LIVING MATHS MATHLETICS OLYMPIAD 2009 – Miss Sullivan
Congratulations to the following pupils who achieved a place in the first three positions of the Living Maths Mathletics Olympiad. They each won a calculator:

APPRECIATION
We thank all our MGPS families who have given of their time and energy to make a positive contribution to our school this year. We are particularly grateful to the following:
• The Governing Body Parent members - Glen Robbins, Des Biggs, Imraan Valodia and Kanagie Naidoo who give freely of their time and skills to enhance the schools’ events, environment and physical resources
• Gunter Richter (sport), Jackie Psannis (sport), Catherine Burns and Sarah Matter, the co-opted Governing Body members for their interest, expertise, perseverance and support
• Debbie Chaperon and Barbara Watt and their team for running the School Uniform Shop and Tuckshop so cheerfully and efficiently
• The group of parents who consistently give their time and spend many hours assisting in numerous and various aspects of school life.

FAREWELL TO SGB CO-OPTED MEMBERS
We bid farewell to Gunter Richter and Sarah Matter who will no longer be parents at MGPS next year. Thank you to Gunter for his valuable input on the Sports Committee and assisting Mr Warren Petzer and Mr Leigh Gulston with all sporting matters. Thank you to Sarah for taking minutes at SGB meetings and typing up the minutes so efficiently.

MALVERN CHILDREN’S HOME: DELIVERY OF GIFT BOXES – Mrs Labuschagne
We will meet at MGPS at 16h45 on Tuesday 8 December and depart shortly thereafter to the Malvern Children’s Home. We will visit for 30 minutes at the various houses. Please note that only children who have made boxes and who are accompanied by their parents will be allowed to join us. Children have to be in full school uniform, as they are representing the school.

GENERAL ASSISTANTS AND SECURITY GUARD APPRECIATION ASSEMBLY
Thank you to those families who have contributed towards the General Assistants and Security Guard end of year assembly. The hampers will be presented in assembly on Wednesday 9 December at 07h30. You are welcome to join us.

GRADE 7 MARKET DAY – Mrs Sibson

Come and have some fun at the Grade 7 Market Day. There will be food, games and much more! Bring your pocket money and support these young entrepreneurs.

GRADE 7 PRIZE GIVING - Mrs Sibson
Date : Thursday 10 December
Time : 10h00
Children from Grade 3 to Grade 7 may be collected at 12h30 after prize-giving. There will be aftercare on this day.

BREAK UP DAY: Friday 11 December
Please note there will be no aftercare on break-up day.
• The Foundation Phase children (Grades 1 – 3) will leave school at 09h45
• The Intermediate and Senior Phase children (Grades 4 – 7) will leave school at 10h00.

FESTIVE SEASON GREETINGS
We wish our Jewish families a joyous Hanukkah celebration on 11 December and our Christian families a joyous Christmas celebration on 25 December. We wish everyone a relaxing, loving and entertaining period with their family and friends during the December / January school vacation.
