The Grade 5's have just completed their Geography theme on Mapwork and Direction. They worked with an atlas and they learnt how to read and plot grid references to construct shapes. We gave directions using road names as well as compass directions. Using their Geography knowledge they, in their groups, had to make a board or card game for Technology. They thoroughly enjoyed this task.
Manor Gardens Primary School is a small, friendly co-ed school from Grade 1 to Grade 7. Class sizes range between 20 and 30 learners. We embrace all races, religions and cultures in an atmosphere of respect, tolerance and understanding. Our teaching methods reinforce the belief that each child is a unique individual, who has a variety of strengths and weaknesses, and who must be allowed to develop at their own pace.
As part of their theme, Imaginary Creatures, the Grade 3 children (and their teachers) came to school dressed as an imaginary creature of their choice.
The grade 5's presented an inspiring and thought provoking assembly looking at issues pertaining to trees. Every aspect of our lives relate back to trees! Have you hugged a tree today?
